This Clean Air Day (20th June), we’re proud to celebrate our carbon-capture process – a breakthrough that converts atmospheric carbon into something permanent, pure and purposeful.
Our Carbon Capture Process
Every Skydiamond starts its life in the sky. We extract carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere and combine it with rainwater, wind and solar energy in our Sky Lab in Gloucestershire. The result? The world’s most sustainable lab-grown diamonds – made from nature’s elements, not taken from the earth.
“I was looking for ways to not just capture carbon from the atmosphere but hold it in a permanent way, and of course, a diamond is the purest form of condensed carbon. Importantly for me, it’s also a chance to show people there is another way, a better choice than land mining without compromise.”
This process makes our lab-grown diamonds carbon-negative, removing more CO2 from the atmosphere than we emit in production. To put it in context, a traditional mined diamond emits over 160kg of CO2 per carat. Our process avoids all that – and goes a step further – making Skydiamond a powerful part of the climate solution.
