"Raising voices of planet-positive changemakers who are working towards a more brilliant tomorrow."
Introducing Bay Garnett
Bay Garnett is a fashion stylist, editor and senior independent fashion advisor at Oxfam. As the pioneer of "thrifting", Bay was the first to include vintage pieces in luxury shoots, bringing thrifting into the mainstream. Today, her second-hand credentials are more relevant than ever to the future of fashion, as a cornerstone of sustainability.
How does Nature Inspire your work?
Nature has inspired my work so much over the years; its been the backdrop to most of my shoots and in most them played centre stage.
How do you keep motivated when it feels one step forward and two steps back?
Keep moving! Keep thinking! I have to make myself as I love reading and letting time slip by…I'm a dreamer at heart, and dreaming is fine as long as you are not dreaming more than you are doing - at least for me anyway.
What does a diamond represent to you?
I love diamonds. For me they represent glamour, allure, sophistication.
What would you say to Mother Nature if you could shout it up to the Sky?
Thankyou! Thankyou! I love you!
Who or What are you currently most encouraged by that will help us deliver a more brilliant tomorrow for people or planet?
I am encouraged by individuals who choose to not fly, to not eat meat, to buy clothes in a more sustainable way; people who actually make some sacrifices in their lives in order to make a difference. None of us are being made to, and we should be, but I very much admire people who try their best to do the right thing in their day to day lives.
