How does Nature Inspire your work?
Nature inspires my work all year round, as at the moment I’m working on a body of work which is called “Seasons”, so I’m constantly looking at the seasons changing and the colours change (which is fascinating), most of the things I paint and draw are nature inspired, so I get a kick out of that most days.
How do you keep motivated when it feels one step forward and two steps back?
Keeping motivated is hard especially when it’s cold outside and I have to draw plants (so that’s quite hard going) usually a hot cup of something helps there. But usually, it’s easy to keep inspiration flowing especially after a good long dog walk!!!! Then I get into the brushes and the paints!! Everyday something new which is also inspiring as nature is always changing.
What does a diamond represent to you?
A diamond is a thing of beauty, it represents for me a few things such as LOVE, it can also be something which is kept in the family for generations and handed down through families to loved ones with sentimental value which can hold the test of time!
Also my Dad’s current album is called Hackney diamonds so that quite in keeping right now!
What would you say to Mother Nature if you could shout it up to the Sky?
I think I would ask Mother Nature for forgiveness from us terrible Humans and for what we have done to her over the years.
Who or What are you currently most encouraged by that will help us deliver a more brilliant tomorrow for people or planet?
I’m encouraged by the sustainable movement that’s happening now, as I think a lot of people are coming to their senses about the state of our planet right now and how people are coming up with solutions for plastics in rivers and oceans etc, people seem to be getting out there and helping!!! Which is what’s needed right now, solutions to the problems…keep going, keep thinking…keep on keeping on…
