Meet Polly
Name and job title
Polly Vickery, Private Client and Ecommerce Executive
How do you explain what you do to your kids / grandchildren / parents?
I work for SkyDiamond, where we create diamonds using carbon captured from the atmosphere—so I like to say we "make diamonds from the sky!"
My job is a mix of helping customers and improving our website. I guide customers through choosing the perfect diamond and setting, keep them updated on their orders, and make sure they have a great experience from start to finish. I also help manage our website by adding new products and pages, finding ways to make the online shopping experience even better.
What’s the furthest / most exciting place you have travelled to?
One of the most exciting places I've travelled to was India on a work trip. We spent around six hours driving up a mountain to a remote village at the top. I still couldn't tell you exactly where it was, but it was an unforgettable experience. We ate some of the most delicious food I've ever had and encountered the biggest bugs I've seen in my life!
What does a diamond signify to you?
The ultimate piece of luxury. Something meaningful and very special.
What makes you get up in the morning with a spring in your step?
My daughter, Florence—every day with her is magic.
How do you spend your free time?
Mostly family days out, and dog walks.
What is your role at SkyDiamond, and what does a typical day look like for you?
Every day is different, which is why I love working here so much. I'll be checking emails, looking at online orders, talking to customers, and later working on updates and improvements to the website.
What do you love about working at SkyDiamond?
I love that we're creating jewellery that's truly special and will last forever. I also love that we're all committed to being as sustainable as possible and are thoughtful about everything we do.
Where do you see the future of lab-grown diamonds heading, and how is SkyDiamond positioned to lead the way?
Lab-grown diamonds are likely to see continued growth as consumers increasingly value sustainability, innovation, and traceable sourcing.
What has been your most significant project or accomplishment at Skydiamond so far?
I think my biggest achievement has been helping improve lots of different parts of the business rather than just one big project. I really enjoy problem-solving and finding ways to make things work better..
That said, being involved in parts of the Nile Rodgers project was definitely a highlight! Getting to meet him and then seeing the brooch being worn alongside Taylor Swift was very exciting.
